Remembering Ann

From the first day she joined us at Illinois Graphics, in Bloomington, IL, Ann and I had a great deal of fun. Through the Mefford-Weir years, (which she affectionately called Rear-View Mirror)  in Denver, and the Aspen years, with frequent visits to our home in Denver’s Washington Park for shopping, outings to Elitch Gardens with our children, or heading to the mountains for camping, biking, or ski trips, Ann and I shared countless moments of joy, mixed with poignant milestones, difficult days, and an abundance of laughter. And wine.

Few probably remember the elephant on the gearshift of her Toyota, speaking Swedish with her (why, of course we speak Swedish! clogs, Saab, huskerdu, smorgasbord ... you get the picture), the bunion surgery era, the old Compugraphic 24-character typesetter at IGI, bike trips to New Mexico, ski school with George at Copper Mountain, and crazy days at the office carving pumpkins, taking saunas, and getting things done. Ah, it was fun, AMKM. Thanks for the great memories.

While we grew apart when I moved from Colorado to Idaho, I still recall her inspired spirit, clever humor, and infectious laugh with a warm smile. Thinking back on all of these memories took me away from a challenging day, and shook my recall to place a few, delightful moments at the forefront, remembering her, and reminding me to live every moment.

Her life cut short by decades, she will be missed by so many, and remembered as an exceptional friend. May her spirit live on to inspire joy, friendship, and adventure.
