Obituary for Barbara M Kort
Barbara Mabel Kort passed away Monday, November 23, 2015, in Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
Barb was born in Silvan Lake, Alberta, in 1932. The oldest daughter of German immigrants Arno and Anna Prinzler. She was preceded in passing by her mother, father, and brother Arno Prinzler.
She married John Kort July 2, 1955, in Berea Ohio. They moved to the Glenwood Valley in 1972. Where they raised their four children. She was know all over the Glenwood valley for her amazing talent, cooking and making candy.
She is survived by her husband John G. Kort, Rob Kort, Russ Kort, Sue McCain, Sandy Hyra, grandchildren Krystal, Kendra, and Matthew McCain, Benjamin and Audrey Kort, and her sister Joan Carol.
In lieu of flowers we are requesting donation be made to Barb’s favorite special program, “MIMI’S WISH FOR MATHEW.” Her grandson has Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome and is cognitively delayed. Last year, Matthew was treated at the Carrick Brain Centers with amazing results. Treatments are $5,000 dollars per week. We would be grateful to all who contribute to “ MIMI’S WISH FOR MATHEW.”

Funeral services will be held Friday November 27th. 2:00 pm Farnum-Holt Funeral Home, 405 West 7th St. in Glenwood Springs.
