Carolyn was born on April 1, 1936, in Lamar, Colorado, to Paul and Dorothy Field. They moved to the Rifle area when Carolyn was young. She spent many days riding horses on their ranch on Taughenbaugh Mesa. Carolyn attended Rifle High School and on May 1,1952, She married Bill VanArsdale. Together, they have one daughter, Starla (Paul) Karr of Rifle. Carolyn has three grandchildren: Jeremy and (Rose) Patch, Josh and (Tarrah) Patch and Katie and (Blaine) Zulian, and eight great-grandchildren.

She loved spending time with her family, and we will miss her feisty spirit and her fun-loving nature.
